Each year The Pantone Color Institute releases Color of The Year to strike a conversation around color among the design communities and color enthusiasts across the world. While choosing this year’s shade, their team came across the constant quest for Harmony.
A Little Insider Thought!
According to Laurie Pressman, the Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, “The everlasting search for harmony filters through into every aspect of our lives, including our relationships, the work we do, our social connections and the natural environment that surrounds us”.
She further elaborated “For Pantone Color of the Year 2025, we look to a mellow brown hue whose inherent richness and sensorial and comforting warmth extends further into our desire for comfort, and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others.”
Surprise? Not Really!
Well, the color did not really come as a surprise as we have been seeing this subtle brown hue this year with Hailey Bieber’s Rhode Espresso lip tint. Many designers too dipped their toes into Mocha Mousse as it made appearances at Hermès, Wiederhoeft, Gabriela Hearst, Miu Miu, Gucci and more.
